Statement of purpose
Poppy Field is located in Bilston on the outskirts of Wolverhampton. It aims to offer a service for children aged 7 to 18 years (over 18 years in exceptional circumstances when it is in the best interests and needs of the child, young person, or adult). The home caters to those with learning disabilities, complex needs, Autism (ASD), and associated behaviours. We have developed a team that has, between them, many years of experience working with children with learning disabilities, ASD, and behavioural needs. We maintain an individualised, client-centred approach to care planning, utilising multidisciplinary assessments and interventions. The team also provides indirect support to education providers to help manage daily behaviours and presentations, ensuring that the child remains at the heart of the care plan.
Our vision for Poppy Field is to provide the highest possible level of care to all children residing in the home, promoting a homely, relaxed, and nurturing environment. We encourage the development of practical, social, and daily living skills, helping children transition from childhood into adulthood and fulfilling their individual potential. The home aims to create a safe and caring environment, reflective of a family home, where children can thrive and be supported to reach their full potential.
