Supporting children aged 7 to 17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a secure, individualised living space.
Supporting children aged 7 to 17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a secure, individualised living space.
Statement of purpose

CherryBank Children’s Services is based in Great Barr, Birmingham, and specialises in supporting up to 3 children/young people between the ages of 7 and 17 who have complex emotional and behavioural difficulties and/or learning disabilities. CherryBank is designed for short- to medium-term placements. Many children/young people struggle to find residential placements that support their specific needs due to undiagnosed or ongoing diagnostic processes. CherryBank offers a nurturing environment with individualised care plans, utilising multidisciplinary assessments and interventions. We also work indirectly with education providers to manage daily behaviours, ensuring that the child/young person is at the heart of their care plan.

Our vision at CherryBank is to provide the highest possible level of care in a homely, relaxed, and nurturing environment tailored to each child/young person’s specific needs. The home features three living pods that allow each child/young person to feel safe and secure within their own environment, with opportunities to engage with peers in communal areas. Each pod replicates a secure and homely living environment, with facilities including an independent lounge, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. Children/young people are encouraged to personalise their pods, promoting ownership and acceptance.
